The Foundation (of which Giuseppe Dossetti and Beniamo Andreatta have been Presidents) is now presided by Valerio Onida. Since the death of Giuseppe Alberigo, the Secretary General is Alberto Melloni. The Foundation is supported by a Board of Trustees appointed partly by the Associazione per lo sviluppo delle scienze religiose in Italia, partly by the Scientific Committee, partly by the Rector of the University of Bologna. Members are:
Valerio Onida President, full professor of Constitutional Law at the University of Milan and president of Associazione dei Costituzionalisti Italiani, was jugde and president of the Italian Supreme Court. He is member of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation since 1985 and is presiding it since 2005.
Giulio Anselmi Advisor since 2010, President of ANSA, directed the weekly Il Mondo and L’Espresso and worked as columnist for various big newspapers. He is former director of Il Messaggero e La Stampa.
Anna Maria Artoni Advisor since 2010, Former president of the Movimento Giovani Imprenditori di Confindustria, she now presides Confindustria Emilia-Romagna, is counsellor of the University Luiss Guido Carli and member in the Board of directors of important companies.
Franco Bassanini Advisor since 2010, full professor of Constitutional Law, President of Cassa depositi e Prestiti and founder and director of Fondazione ASTRID, was parliamentarian and minister.
Enzo Bianchi Life member since 1985, founder and prior of Monastero di Bose, professor of Biblical theology at the University Vita Salute San Raffaele of Milan. Since 1985 he is life member of the Board of Trustees.
Dino Piero Giarda Advisor since 2006, full professor of Financial science of the Catholic University of Milan, was undersecretary of state of the Italian Treasure and advisor to the Presidency of the Council of Ministers.
Alberto Melloni Secretary General since 2007, full professor of History of Christianity at the University of Modena-Reggio Emilia and holder of the UNESCO Chair John XXIII for Religious Pluralism and Peace at the University of Bologna, is scientific advisor of the Istituto della Enciclopedia Italiana Treccani and member of the Board of directors of the Italian Biographical Dictionary.
