G20 Interfaith Forum 2021: 12-14 September, Bologna

Many institutional meetings and special events will take place in the run-up to the G20 Summit. The Foundation for religious studies (FSCIRE) has taken on the responsibility of hosting the G20 Interfaith Forum in Bologna, the annual platform that brings together interreligious and intercultural organisations, religious leaders, scholars, humanitarian and development organisations, and economic and civil society actors, to offer insights and recommendations to help shape global political agendas.

The theme for this global gathering will be: “Time to Heal: Peace Among Cultures, Understanding Between Religions”.

On December 3, 2020, Fscire received the baton from the Saudi Presidency, during a virtual ceremony, chaired by Professor Alberto Melloni (Secretary of FSCIRE), which featured the following speakers: Cole Durham (President of the G20 Interfaith Forum Association); Matteo Lepore (Councillor for Culture, Tourism and Promotion of the City of Bologna); Cardinal Matteo Zuppi (Archbishop of Bologna); Pietro Benassi (Diplomatic Advisor to the Prime Minister and G20 Sherpa); Faisal bin Muaammar (Secretary-General of the International Dialogue Centre, KAICIID); Katherine Marshall (Vice President of the G20 Interfaith Forum Association); Nathalie Tocci (Director of the IAI Institute of International Affairs); Elisabetta Belloni (Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation).

The G20 Interfaith Forum will be held in Bologna, Italy from September 12-14, 2021.
