Guest Lectures – JewChriS Master Programme

On Friday, June 19, 2026, the Fondazione per le scienze religiose will host the last public meeting of the Master JewChris, the advanced programme that explores the historical formation of Jewish and Christian scriptures and the diversity of their exegetical traditions across centuries. 

The lecture will be delivered by Miguel H. DÍaz, University Chair in Public Service at the Loyola University of Chicago, with the intervention: Reading the Signs of the Times: God, Idolatry, and Violence Against the Common Good, which will take place from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in Via S. Vitale 114 (Bologna) and online via Zoom at the link below.

The Guest Lecture Series of the JewChriS Master Programme, directed by Edmondo Lupieri (Loyola University Chicago) and Laura Bigoni (Universität Freiburg), runs from 21 February to 19 June 2026 and brings together international scholars presenting case studies on exegesis, translation, textual transmission, and the editorial history of ancient manuscripts such as the Nag Hammadi Codices, the Great Isaiah Scroll (1QIsaa), and the Greek Psalter.

Since Febraury, the JewChriS Guest Lectures hosted Willem Smelik (University College London/Universität Potsdam), Andrea Annese and Daniele Tripaldi (Alma Mater Studiorum University of Bologna), Marcello Fidanzio (Università della Svizzera Italiana), Felix Albrecht (Niedersächsische Akademie der Wissenschaften zu Göttingen) and Arianna Rotondo (University of Catania).
