The second fascicolo edited by Atria A. Larson (Saint Louis University) on the gospels in medieval communities – Qsrm 2-2022 presented Part 1, on Written and Spoken Word – focuses on the gospels as foundational text inspiring artistic portrayals ranging from manuscript illuminations to monumental sculpture. And, of course, the gospels as books were objects themselves.
Each article is followed by a rich iconographic appendix.
