Education, academic and professional experience

He currently serves as editorial assistant for the journal Palermo Occasional Papers (PaOP).

In October 2024, he completed his PhD at the Alta Scuola Europea di Scienze Religiose “Giuseppe Alberigo” with a dissertation entitled Protection from Calamities: A Study of Abū Bakr ibn al-ʿArabī’s al-ʿAwāṣim min al-qawāṣim (supervisor: Prof. Frank Griffel).

From August 2022 to July 2023, he was a Visiting Assistant in Research (VAR) at Yale University, Department of Religious Studies, under the supervision of Prof. Frank Griffel.

In March 2019, he obtained a master’s degree in philosophy from the University of Palermo with a thesis in Islamic philosophy entitled Suhrawardī e la metafisica della luce (supervisor: Prof. Giuseppe Roccaro; co-supervisor: Prof. Rosa Maria Lupo).

In October 2016, he earned a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and historical studies at the University of Palermo, presenting a thesis on Leibniz’s philosophy entitled La nozione di monade in Leibniz: uno specchio dell’essere umano e della sua esistenza (supervisor: Prof. Sandro Mancini).
