Il Concilio. Storia del Vaticano II
A great event: 2500 bishops gathered in St. Peter’s. This was Vatican II. Announced on 25 January 1959, the greatest assembly that Christianity has ever known officially opened on 11 October 1962. Vatican II, the 21st council in the history of the Church, ended three years later on 8 December 1965. The wish of Pope John XXIII, the Council would be led and concluded by Paul VI. The documentary, edited by Alberto Melloni, Fabio Nardelli and Federico Ruozzi, was aired on 18 September 2009 in the transmission of Raitre La Grande Storia.
