History of ecumenism; History of the Second Vatican Council and its reception; History of the Church in Latin America.

Education and academic experience

She is the Director of the journal Cristianesimo nella Storia and served on the International Editorial Board of Concilium.

She is Professor of the History of Christianity at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, and was trained at the Universities of Pisa and Roma Tre, as well as at the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC.

She has undertaken research stays at the Universidade Católica de Brasília and at the Laboratoire de Recherche Historique Rhône-Alpes / Université Jean Moulin–Lyon 3.

In 2014–2015 she taught History of Christianity at the Université catholique de Louvain-la-Neuve.

Since 1995 she has been a member of FSCIRE, where she served from 2006 to 2014 as Coordinator of the Giuseppe Alberigo European School for Advanced Religious Studies.
