EuARe – Open Call for Secretarial Activities
Open call for Support Activities in the Organization of the 2026 Edition of the European Academy of Religion Conference.
A selection procedure is hereby announced for the awarding of a coordinated and continuous collaboration contract to support the organization of the 9th Annual Conference of the European Academy of Religion, to be held in Rome.
The collaboration, starting on September 15, 2025, will be based in Palermo, at Via degli Schioppettieri 25, at the 'Giorgio La Pira' Library and Research Center, headquarters of the Foundation for Religious Sciences.

Compensation will be based on experience.
The position will have a duration of 10 months, contingent upon a positive evaluation of the work performed by March 16, 2026.

Requirements
The call is open to candidates who meet the following language and IT requirements:
- good knowledge of the English language (knowledge of a second European language will be considered an asset);
- ability to work independently with Microsoft Office Suite, internet browsers, Google Workspace, and Adobe Acrobat;
- knowledge of at least one graphic design tool, such as Adobe Express, VistaCreate, or Canva, will be considered a preferential qualification.
In terms of transversal skills, candidates are expected to demonstrate a strong aptitude for teamwork, supported by excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
In addition, organizational and coordination skills are essential, as they are crucial for structured and detail-oriented work.
Professional profile
The position involves the full management of secretarial activities within the organizational context related to EuARe 2026.
In particular, the selected candidate will be responsible for:
- Manage incoming and outgoing email correspondence;
- Create and update content on the association’s website and produce newsletters for participants;
- Collaborate with the association’s social media manager to publish informational and promotional content;
- Use and manage the conference management software, handling the collection of abstracts and reviews, verifying panel requirements, and facilitating communication between the Secretariat, Executive Board, and participants;
- Coordinate with the external agency responsible for the software used to create the online conference program, including any necessary updates or modifications.
Criteria
The selection for the assignment will take place in two stages: an initial evaluation of the submitted qualifications, followed by an oral interview.
