On Tuesday, 30th June 2026, from 8.30 am to 4.30 pm, at the Pontifical Biblical Institute (Piazza della Pilotta 35, Roma), will take place the annual The Historical and Theological Lexicon of the Septuagint workshop, which is a collective and interdisciplinary project that aims to restore linguistic and historical meaning of the most relevant terms of the Septuaginta, through a multivolume dictionary (directed by Eberhard Bons and Daniela Scialabba; coordinated by Anna Mambelli, Tübingen, Mohr Siebeck, 4 vols., 2020-).
The workshop is structured in one session, focused on semantics, evolution of the meanings of terms and lexical innovation in the Translation of the Seventy.
The proceedings will feature: Daniela Scialabba (Pontifical Biblical Institute, Rome / FSCIRE); Anna Mambelli (University of Modena and Reggio Emilia / FSCIRE); Eberhard Bons (University of Strasbourg / FSCIRE); Antonella Bellantuono (Catholic University of Lille); Ralph Brucker (FSCIRE); Antonio Cacciari (University of Bologna); Laura Carnevale (University of Bari Aldo Moro); Fabio Caruso (Loyola University Chicago); Erik Eynikel (University of Regensburg); Christoph Kugelmeier (Saarland University, Saarbrücken); Martina Landolfi (University of Florence); Rosa Otranto (University of Bari Aldo Moro); Chiara Spuntarelli (Sapienza University of Rome); Samuele Ricciardi and Dalila Roccotelli (University of Bari Aldo Moro).
The participation is free and open to anyone who is interested in the study of the Septuaginta.
